Wartrace: A Living Soul

Film Premiere a Resounding Success, Future Episodes and Licensing Announced

MURFREESBORO, TN – SEPTEMBER 16, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The highly anticipated premiere of the documentary film “Wartrace: A Living Soul” on August 9th, 2025, exceeded all expectations, drawing an enthusiastic and above-average audience to celebrate the film's debut in Wartrace, TN. The positive response from the community and attendees has affirmed the film’s powerful message and sparked new opportunities for the project.

The premiere was a true homecoming for the film, which explores the rich history and enduring spirit of Small Town America through the lens of Wartrace’s long-time residents. The overwhelming turnout and positive feedback from the event have inspired a new chapter for the documentary.

"This film was a passion project three years in the making," says Murfreesboro-based filmmaker Heidi Cataldo-Warren. "As a solely funded independent filmmaker, I had the freedom to innovate and prioritize historical accuracy above all else, including working with a historic advisory board to ensure every detail was perfect. The incredible response to the premiere shows that this commitment to authentic storytelling resonates deeply with people, and we are excited to announce that eight to nine future episodes are now in the works.”

Building on this success for a solely funded project, Cataldo-Warren is actively exploring new avenues to expand the film’s reach. In addition to the development of new episodes, licensing opportunities for the original film are now available for distribution, educational use, and broadcast. To support these future projects and ensure the preservation of these vital stories, grant applications have been submitted, demonstrating a commitment to continued community and historical storytelling.

"Wartrace: A Living Soul" is a compelling 55-minute documentary that blends interview style, historic narrative, and storytelling to delve into the rich tapestry of life in the Wartrace area. The film showcases how history cycles through politics, music, and art, perpetually bringing people together. It is a powerful testament to the enduring soul of a small American town.
